Free trial cancellation — questions
How do I calculate my free trial cancel date?
Enter the date the trial started and how long it runs. TrialGuard adds the trial length to the start date to find the first billing day, then subtracts a safety buffer to give your cancel-by date.
Does canceling a free trial stop it immediately?
No. On most services canceling turns off the auto-renewal but you keep access until the trial’s end date. Canceling early does not shorten your access, so the safe move is to cancel right after you sign up.
Will I get charged if I forget to cancel before the trial ends?
Yes. A free trial that requires a card auto-converts to a paid plan on the first billing date unless you cancel first. Setting a reminder for 2 days before the trial ends is the most reliable way to avoid the charge.
How many days before the trial ends should I cancel?
Some services require cancellation up to 24 hours before the trial ends, so a 2-day safety buffer is recommended — that’s the default here.
Is this calculator free and private?
Yes. It is free and runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded and no account is needed.
